Having been born in the Facebook Era, blogging seems to be rather 'retro'. But nevertheless I shall continue to attempt to contribute to the family blog, especially since the folks enjoy looking back at old posts every now and then.

Backdate: Congrats Uncle Isaac!

As we looked through our photos on the computer, we found this photo:

This was taken when Elisha was still a wee little thing sometime in July, when we had gone to Aquamarine. The folks tell us that dinner was Uncle Isaac's treat to celebrate his finally graduating as one of the three pioneer students in the Econs/Law batch in NUS. Since then he's been busy (and we hear going to be even busier) with his PLC.

Anyhow Congratulations again Uncle I!

Our Sentosa Getaway!

After the excitement of the last school term which culminated in our annual concert, the folks thought it would be good for us to have a short break during the September holidays. A staycation sounded ideal, since we could just pack everything into our car boot! So they made some arrangements and after the rush of Saturday morning classes, we found ourselves in Sentosa.

Our Annual School Concert: Under the Sea!

Our school concert was held on 4th September, and was a day that both of us were eagerly anticipating. This was Eunice's first concert and my second. We had spent weeks rehearsing (both in school and at home!), our costumes were tailored, and boy were we ready to perform!

The theme of this year's concert was "Under the Sea", and it was about two divers who went in search for the finest pearls. My classmates and I were seahorses, and I also played the same creature in the ballet item. Eunice was a surfer for her "Surfing USA" ballet item, and transformed into a mermaid for her class item.

We were so excited about the performance that we wanted Mummy to get us changed into our costumes when we got up in the morning. Unfortunately she didn't think it was a good idea since the concert was to take place only at night! Anyhow we reminded her to get us dressed early so that we could have enough time to put on make-up!

The Concert Hall all decked out for the performance.

Elisha Checking In

  • Sep. 13th, 2009 at 12:44 AM
E3
Hello! This is Elisha aka E3 checking in. You may have heard of me, the baby of the family, having joined in the fun 3 months ago. I'm having a go at this 'writing' business since I hear this blog has been going on since Liz Jie was a baby, and has become somewhat of a family activity.

It's been rather interesting being a baby with two older sisters. From the time I was in Mummy's tummy, I would hear these two little voices talking to me each night, telling me how excited they were about my impending arrival into the world. It was no surprise then that I was very used to their voices after I arrived. In fact, I was even used to Mummy yelling at them! So I managed to sleep through even with them playing next to me!

Well apart from the noise, I am blessed to have two older sisters who simply adore me! A little too much though - so much so that Mummy used to worry about me being squashed by their cuddles! I'm sure I'll be able to rely on them as I grow up, and hey I'll protect them when I've grown up too!

Entertaining Ourselves

It has been impossible for us to keep our blog up to date, and here we are, posting about the June holidays!  Since we were busy preparing for and adjusting to Elisha's arrival, the folks did not sign us up for any holiday program. But we made do with what we had at home, and boy did we have fun!

Welcome to Our World, Elisha!

8th June 2009 was THE day we had been looking forward to for months. Months of talking to Mummy's growing tummy, as well as playing hide and seek with Elisha as he kicked us in response to our voices.  Also months of watching as Mummy started moving more slowly and lying down more often (actually most of the time!).

Sisters Have Fun Together!

The folks notice that we enjoy each company a lot more these days. In fact, we're now the best of friends, compared to a couple of months ago, when squabbles were the order of the day. We have finally matured and are learning the 'art of persuasion', so most of the time we are able to settle our differences on our own. And since Mummy is 'attached' to the sofa most of the time now, we suspect she is actually relieved that we entertain ourselves without her having to move too much!

Anyway, since Mummy just dug up some old photos, we thought this post would be good for us to remember some of our 'sisterly' moments!

Elizabeth is Five!

My scribe (aka Mummy) has been busy and tired of late, and so the frequency of our postings has decreased quite a bit. This post comes just over a month late. But then again, better late than never!

I am finally five years old! A milestone since that's half a decade old. The folks can't believe how fast the years have flown by, and how much I've grown. There are now many things that I am able to do for myself - and the adults realise I'm not going to need their help with the physical aspects of daily living much longer. In fact, Mummy has found me a great help in running little errands like opening doors, going up and downstairs to fetch things, answering the phone, just to name a few - especially in recent months where she is not as mobile as before.

Eunice The Ballerina!

  • Mar. 3rd, 2009 at 5:52 PM

The most exciting part of being in Nursery 2 this year was finally being able to attend enrichment classes in school. Of the three classes I take, the most anticipated and still my favourite is Ballet!

After spending the whole of last year borrowing Liz's costume and pretending to dance, I finally got my very own leotard, skirt and shoes, and boy was I one happy girl!

A trip to Hong Kong would not be complete for us without visiting our friends in the Magical Kingdom. It was slightly over a year since our last visit there, and the folks thought it was about time for us to take a trip there again.

This time we put up at Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel for a change, and Gong Gong and Po Po joined us there as well! The hotel this time was vintage styled, and reminded the folks somewhat of Raffles Hotel back home, though not as 'aged'.

Hong Kong 29 Dec 08 to 6 Jan 09: Part 1

  • Mar. 1st, 2009 at 5:15 PM
both mar09

This is the final backdated post for last year! Perhaps it was the unusually hot December weather, or the realization that it would be at least a year later that we would be able to go away for a holiday. Whatever the reason, the folks made a 'last minute' decision and off to Hong Kong we went over the New Year holidays.

The combination of cool weather as well as Mummy's laziness fatigue meant that we had a slow paced vacation this time. The folks decided that we would explore some different areas of HK from the ones where we had been on our last two trips.

22nd December was Kong Cho's birthday. We were told that this was a special one since he turned a grand 80 years old on that day.
The folks tell us that he is 'young' for a great-grandfather, and that he was only 46 when Mummy was born!

Our Pretend Birthday Party!

  • Jan. 14th, 2009 at 10:32 PM

I had to something to ask Gong Gong when he came back in December for the holidays : "Why were you not there at my birthday celebration?"
This posed him a question that he had some trouble explaining, and soon he decided to have a pretend birthday party for the two of us!

This post comes over a month late, as we have been busy getting adjusted back the routine of the new school term.  The folks celebrated their 6th wedding anniversary on the 7th of December, and as in previous years, we got to join them in the surprises planned by Daddy.
